3 month recap

It has definitely been awhile since I wrote anything about what we have been up to. I apologize profusely but I cannot promise that it will not happen again. I figure I'll just recap everything that we have done this summer so this doesn't drag on, and on, and get filled with too many pictures. So, lets begin with June.
At the start of June I had my birthday. Yay for 23! To be honest, it was so long ago that I hardly remember what I did haha. The day after my birthday Dom and I went up to the Anniversary Inn in Logan. We will go up there every now and again for what we call mini vacations. I finally got to stay in the room there that I had been wanting to say in for a long time. It was themed as a drive in movie. A truck was the bed and the TV was a projector. It was awesome!

Me in the truck

In June I also got my diploma! I graduated in April for those of you who do not know.
Yay! My money paid for a piece of paper!

The most exciting event of June was Josh coming home from his mission. I never got to know Josh while we were kids so I was pretty excited to have a new brother. Dominic was as excited as a little kid on Christmas Eve the night before. It was adorable. The morning we picked him up Dom's excitement never toned down. I thought he was going to explode with joy.

Josh coming out :)

July was a way fun and exciting month. We started the month off by going to the Stadium of Fire on the 4th with my family
Super excited to be there

Journey!!!!!!

We also went to the dinosaur museum in Bountiful or somewhere around there. They basically have gigantic sculptures of different dinosaurs outside.

Dom wanted him as a pet

Me with Dinos!

We also did Pasquale family pictures in July.

This field was beautiful for pictures.

The gang is all here!

I look like one of them. It's funny

August is only a couple weeks in but it has been rather exciting.
A couple weeks ago we made smores are my parents house on a Sunday. Very messy, but very fun,
Dom and his fire he made

Yummy!!

We love smores!

The most exciting this to happen this month I sadly do not have pictures of. A few months back I decided I wanted to work for Wasatch Mental Health. I went to their website and applied for a couple job openings. I felt really good about it but I didn't want to get my hopes up in case I didn't get it. About a week after submitting my application I got a call from the HR department, they wanted me to take a computer test to assess my skills before pursuing me further. I took the test on a Monday. The Tuesday of that same week I got a call from one of the supervisors in one of the clinics I applied for. He said he wanted to interview me. We set up an interview for Thursday. When I went I wasn't feeling well and when I left I felt like I blew it. About 3 hours after the interview he called me and offered me the position. It was insanity. I thought I had blown it but apparently not! I was able to leave my job at America's Best and accepted the job with Wasatch. The position I am in is not what you would think someone with a degree would have but it is getting my foot in the door in order to do what I really want to do later. We are very excited about the adventures ahead :)

Missing Out? I Think Not!

Well its been awhile since I last wrote. We've been crazy busy with school and everything that goes with it. Dominic finished his 1st year and I finished my bachelor's degree which is awesome! This week we had Josh come home from serving in Kansas. Dom was so excited to have him back it was like watching a little kid on Christmas Eve. I had to joke with him before we picked Josh up from the airport that he was not allowed to be happier to see him than he was to marry me. I didn't really know Josh very well while growing up around the Pasquales. All I can remember was that when I moved in to the house my parents are in that he moved my bed in and put it all together. I'm super excited to get to know him better. I have another brother! How cool is that?!
This week we also we able to see my cousin Jenny be married in the temple to her now husband Allen. It was so neat to hear the covenants that Dominic and I made just 7 months ago again. This event is what prompted the title of this entry.
Lately, I have been receiving comments about how I miss out on all kinds of things now that I am married. Sure, I can't just go and spend a couple hundred dollars whenever I want, I can't leave the house at 10am and not come home till 3am the next morning, I can't just pack up and go on a trip whenever I want, and I can't go do things single people do. While thinking about this I came to the conclusion that not only am I not able to do these things but I really have no desire to do them. When you get married your mindset completely changes. The moment this happened
my mindset had changed. I knew that I was making a promise to the wonderful man kneeling before me that I would stay with him forever and do whatever I could to make him happy. My mindset changed again kneeling across the alter and saying "yes" to the sealer. I knew we had become one with each other, and one with God.
In the sealing room yesterday at Jenny's wedding the sealer talked a little bit about sacrifice. He said something that I completely agree with. He stated that you will have to make sacrifices in your marriage and many of them will be without reward for you. You know you will not receive a reward for your sacrifice but you do it anyway because you want your spouse to be happy and you love them unconditionally. How true that statement is. I wish we had gotten that counsel when we got married but better late than never I suppose.
How it felt to be sealed to Dominic forever is indescribable. Would I trade that feeling for being able to spend two hundred dollars whenever I want? No. Would I trade knowing that I have someone to come home to for being able to leave at 10am and come home at 3am? No. Would I trade knowing that no matter what stupid thing I do he will still love me for packing up and going on a trip at a moments notice? No. Would I trade waking up and seeing my best friend peacefully sleeping beside me for being able to take part in activities for single people? Absolutely not. I gave up things that were good for something that was the best and I would never trade that for anything. Do I miss out on stuff? No, not really.

Christmas Shenanigans

Its been awhile since I've updated haha. December was a super busy month with finals and everything. Toward the beginning of the month Dominic and I went to a Christmas sing-a-long thing at the library with his family.
Yeah, my mother in law is way cooler than your mother in law :)

There was a giant tree so naturally we had to take a picture with it

As the month went on Dominic and I decided we wanted to do something Christmasy every week. So one week we went to the Riverwoods and walked around looking at their lights.

We even had our first Christmas tree this year

One Sunday we went to my parents house for dinner and just to hang out. We made gingerbread houses and I got to see the kitties. I know this is weird, but after having a cat my entire life, it is really weird not having one.

Baby Oliver doing what Peanut would do every Christmas and he even sat in the same spot that Peanut would sit

Dominic thought he was the overlord of this village

Each of us with out houses we made. Dom's by far was the most creative. His wall caved in and he turned it into a construction zone
The following Monday my family invited us to their Christmas tradition of going to the Spanish Fork lights. I have gone to these every year for as long as I can remember.

The next day (Tuesday) we went and saw the new Hobbit movie! The Hobbit is Dom's favorite book and he loves the Lord of the Rings as a whole so I thought it would be fun to get tickets to the advanced screening.

We were really excited

That weekend we went to see the lights at Temple Square. They were gorgeous as usual.

Yeah I kind of love him a lot

We are special haha

We met Buddy the Elf and the Grinch! They were Baptists haha but they were great and super funny

After they found out we had recently gotten married they pulled out a mistletoe. Obviously the Grinch was terrified

Sunday we helped Charlie celebrate Hanuka

The Tuesday before Christmas we had an ugly sweater party at work.
These are my coworkers Jessica, and Sam. We get along pretty well in case you couldn't tell haha

Sam, Becky, Jessica, Catherine, Jeska, and our manager Diana laying across us

Probably the most normal picture we took the entire day

Then we had Christmas!! It was fun having a first Christmas married.

Well that has been our lives for the last little while. Hopefully there are many more adventures to come :)

Oh what a life

Well this week sure brought some fun (insert sarcasm here). It was our first week being married, in school, and going back to our regular work schedules. I can't speak for Dominic but I hate it haha. His work sees him more than I do and he always leaves in the morning before I get up. Sometimes I'll see him in the morning for a little while but it is never long enough. I think I might be obsessed with my husband.
Wednesday was an absolute joy (insert even more sarcasm here). The day started normal with getting ready for school and meeting Dominic there and hanging out a little before class. It was after that where things went bad. After class was over I stood up and reached into my pocket to grab my phone and realized it was gone. It was then I realized I had left it where Dom and I had been sitting an hour prior. I ran back to that spot as fast as I could and probably looked really silly while doing so. I asked the girl that was sitting there if she had seen a phone. She let me look around her stuff and wished me luck when we came up with nothing. It was then that I ran to find Dominic. He helped me run around the school to look for my phone and after almost an hour and a half of searching we had to quit because he needed to go to work. I was hysterical because I was sure our honeymoon pictures were on there and had not been transferred to the computer, I later found them on my computer and was overjoyed. We called and texted my phone and received no reply. It turned out that my mom had sent a text as well and the person who took my phone replied to it. The reply was not nice and clearly stated that they had no intention to return the phone to me. That was the only communication we had with them. We had go to go Verizon and order a new phone that will not be there until Monday. Later that night I checked my email and it turned out that when they sent the text to my mom, my phone pinged and sent me an email telling me where it was. It was at Cougar Dental. I then decided to report the phone stolen to campus police and suspend all services. They managed to find the girl who took my phone on camera. They have footage of her taking it and looking around suspiciously to make sure no one saw her pick it up. If they manage to find her, I will have the option to press charges. But I doubt they will find her.
Since that incident I have been using Dominics phone and he has been without a phone which kinda sucks.
Friday we got up and had cake waffles for breakfast. For those of you who don't know, cake waffles are waffles made with cake batter. You can put syrup, fruit, frosting, whipped cream, basically whatever you want on them. We happened to have some frosting so we put that on top and literally had cake for breakfast. While Dom was at school, I went around to the social security office to get my name changed. After that I ran home to grab something I forgot for the DMV and Dom had beat me home. We went to the DMV together and I am now Alyssa Marie Pasquale according to the government. It's awesome :) Later we ran some errands then went out for dinner at Olive Garden and saw the lights at Thanksgiving point. Tonight we are going to the festival of trees and we are going to try to find the tree of life in Draper.
Sorry there are no pictures but they were all on my phone that was stolen and the last set of pictures I had transferred to my computer were of our honeymoon so I don't have anything I took after that. Hopefully we can get some pictures on Dom's phone tonight.
Married life is awesome. I love waking up in the middle of the night and seeing that Dom is right there next to me. Let me tell you, it is a dream come true to be married to my best friend :)

A New Life

Well as many of you may already know, I got married! Yes, yes, it was a surprise for me too. Because I am now a married woman this blog is not going to be just about me anymore. Dominic and I have already had many adventures being married and we have only been married for a little over 1 week.

We got married November 19, 2014 in the Oquirrh Mountain Temple. According to my dad, we were married at 11:04 :) After all the pictures and such we were hungry so we went to Panda Express in our fancy clothes and brought food to our new house to eat before going to the reception. The reception was awesome! We had so much fun talking to everyone that came and dancing like crazy. It was a wonderful day that I will never forget. As soon as we get official pictures I will share them with everyone :)

Presenting Mr. & Mrs. Pasquale

For our honeymoon we went to Kauai Hawaii. I have been there before and its one of my favorite places on  earth so I was excited to show my favorite place to my favorite person.

We went to the Fern Grotto. This is a place where people used to get married and now it is a place to go with your spouse or significant other. They sang the Hawaiian marriage song while we were there so we were married Hawaiian style

One of the most beautiful sunsets I have ever seen at Salt Ponds beach

We took a helicopter tour! This is us with our pilot Chris

I just love him

When we got back we came home to a house with food, sheets, and pretty much everything we could need. It turns out that my parents filled our house with stuff and got us some bedding which was so nice of them because we were planning on come home to nothing. We really appreciate it. I have the best family ever :)

We also spent our first Thanksgiving together with my dads side of the family and that night we went home and got our house organized!

Cute little bedroom. Thanks for the bedding and pillows mom and dad!
